Trastornos musculoesqueléticos de muñeca por exposición a movimientos repetitivos en trabajadores de la sala de partos Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal 2016

Abstract

Objective: to determine musculoskeletal disorders of hand and wrist due to exposure to repetitive movements in obstetricians of the Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal 2016. Methodology: The study included 34 obstetricians. It was observational, descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional. Absolute and relative frequencies were used to analyze the qualitative variables; for quantitative variables, measures of central tendency and dispersion. The checklist index OCRA determined the risk in the workplace; the visual analogue scale (VAS), the pain intensity of the disorder. Results: It was found that 32.4% of the obstetricians presented musculoskeletal disorders in the hand and wrist due to exposure to repetitive movements, 81.8% of them tendinopathy (88.9% of them with mild pain) and 18.2% had tenosynovitis. The obstetrician's workplace presented a very slight level of risk due to repetitiveness, specifically, it was observed that in the reception of the neonate there was very slight risk due to repetitiveness and in the preparation of the obstetrician and the neonate, acceptable risk; On the contrary, in the phase of glove placement, asepsis of the area, sterile field placement and expulsive period the risk was optimal. Tendinopathy was more common in Obstetricians of 11 to 20 years old working in the INMP. Conclusion: 32.4% of the obstetricians had musculoskeletal disorders in the hand and wrist due to exposure to repetitive movements, mainly tendinitis with mild pain intensity.
