Nivel de conocimiento sobre AIEPI clínico en médicos serums, periodo octubre 2017-2018

Abstract

Objective: Identify the level of knowledge about clinical IMCI in Peruvian SERUMS physicians assessed between October 2017-2018. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional descriptive study, using an instrument that included a validated questionnaire, applied to a sample of 224 physicians nationally. For statistical analysis we calculated absolute and relative frequencies and measures of central tendency. Results: A good level of knowledge was obtained in 139 (62%) physicians, regular in 85 (38%) and bad in 0 on clinical IMCI by the physicians evaluated. In relation to the established dimensions, 201 (90%) doctors present a good level of knowledge about general clinical signs and IMCI strategy. The number of physicians who obtained a good level of knowledge about respiratory clinical igns and respiratory tract infections dimension was 111 (50%). Likewise, in digestive clinical signs and digestive tract infections dimension 148 (66%) doctors obtained a good level and in the last dimension, related to anemia and infant nutrition 185 (83%) obtained a good level of knowledge. Conclusion: Level of good knowledge (62%) prevailed about level of knowledge of clinical IMCI in the Peruvian SERUMS physicians of the period October 2017- 2018. The main deficiencies were seen in the level of knowledge about respiratory clinical signs and respiratory tract infections.
