Prevalencia de maloclusiones en estudiantes universitarios quechuas y aimaras de la región Puno
Abstract
Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de maloclusiones en los estudiantes
universitarios quechuas y aimaras de la región Puno.
Metodología de la Investigación: El diseño metodológico fue de tipo descriptivo,
observacional, retrospectivo y transversal. En el cual se recolectó datos de historias
clínicas, se tuvieron en cuenta los siguientes datos: número de historia clínica, edad
registrada en la historia clínica, sexo (femenino o masculino), la procedencia
(Azángaro o Chucuito) y la maloclusión que presenta (Clase I, Clase II o Clase III)
de dos poblaciones. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 166 historias clínicas de
estudiantes universitarios que provienen de Azángaro (quechuas) y 101 historias
clínicas de estudiantes que provienen de Chucuito (aimaras).
Resultados: La prevalencia de clase I en estudiantes quechuas fue 76.5%, Clase
II 9% y Clase III 14.5%. En los estudiantes aimaras la prevalencia de la Clase I fue
de 59.4%, Clase II 25.7% y Clase III 14.8%. Según el sexo la maloclusión
predominante en ambos grupos fue la Clase I tanto en varones y mujeres quechuas
y aimaras, la Clase II predominó en mujeres aimaras y la Clase III fue mayor tanto
en mujeres como varones quechuas. En relación a la edad la mayoría de individuos
afectados por alguna maloclusión se encontraban entre los 17 y 22 años.
Conclusión: La prevalencia de maloclusiones es alta en los estudiantes
universitarios que provienen de Azángaro (quechua) y Chucuito (aimara).
