Objective: to know the usefulness of early rehabilitation in patients presenting with total hip arthroplasty at Luis N. Sáenz Hospital 2015-2016. Material and Methods: The kind of study was descriptive and non-experimental design. The sample consisted all patients over 55 years of age who underwent total cemented and non-cemented hip arthroplasty, the etiology of which is primary coxarthrosis or post hip trauma during the period from April 2015 to April 2016. To evaluate the results of total hip arthroplasty the Harris Score was used. To evaluate the results of total hip arthroplasty the Harris score was used. Results: the mean age of the patients was 69.9 ± 9.6 years, 68.4% were over 65 years, 68.4% were women. 53.6% were diagnosed with hip fracture, 68.4% were operated on the left hip, 68.4% had cemented prosthesis fixation, only one patient had a postoperative complication (ulcer). The 10.5%, 10.5% and 78.9% showed excellent, regular and poor functional hip capacity, respectively. The patients with excellent classification were male (100%), under 65 years (100%), showed hip fracture (100%) and fixation of cementless prosthesis (100%); (73.3%), older than 65 (73.3%), osteoarthrosis (53.3%), and cemented prosthesis fixation. Conclusions: the usefulness of early rehabilitative treatment is greater in male patients younger than 65 years.
